Fall fly fishing is here

The cooler weather of October has arrived! The leaves have started to change color and fall fishing is definitely here. By the middle of the second week of October all the local Delayed Harvest Streams will have been stocked and waiting for you to catch and release Rainbow, Brook and Brown Trout. These streams include the Tuckaseege River up stream of Dillsboro NC, the Upper Nantahala River above the Power Plant and Snowbird Creek near Robinsville NC.

If you want to avoid the crowds, then the Nantahala River below the power plant is the place to fish. We still offer float trips on the tail race of the Nantahala River with good Fall dry fly fishing. You also have the opportunity to tag one of the Nantahala River giant Brown trout that begin moving into their fall/winter spawning runs.

The fishing loft is open daily for your fishing needs with a good supply of the local flies at great prices. Also, check into that new pair of waders or wading boots to make your trip warm and safe. If you have been thinking about that new rod and reel then come in and check out the new TFO rods in the shop. They are a great deal and have one of the best warranties in the industry. Stop by if you need any help with your equipment or just need us to point you in the right direction. Advice is always free!

Need help with your fishing skills or are just starting out, then call and reserve one of our guides to take you out for a half or full day adventure. We will help you have a good time catching some fish and teach you what you need to know to get out there on your own next trip.
